The Summa I

Art Deco for Sophisticated Lifestyles

Hing Hon Road is a hidden architectural gem in Pokfulam with Art Deco style low rise buildings. For Unit A at The Summa, FAK3 was inspired by the area’s classical design elements. The show flat’s aesthetic is elegantly luxurious, with touches of Chinoiserie that marries East and West underscored by organic flourishes of nature.

Boasting 1,968 square feet and featuring 270-degree panoramas of Victoria Harbour to the north, the three bedroom, three bathroom unit includes a study, balcony with sea views and self-enclosed maid’s room.

From the entrance, the living area is dominated by a peacock patterned wool tufted feature wall set within a polished stucco surround. A three seater sofa is flanked by a pair of two seaters,  custom designed with serpentine curves and sumptuous upholstery. Additional volume above the living and diningnickel in a vertical louvre pattern.

The dining area is graced by a resplendent crystal chandelier sparkling with a myriad of butterflies above a rectangular table to seat 10. Plush armchairs finished with gold hued upholstery surround the table. To one end, an oval shaped bar is finished in wood and opens to reveal a Miele wine cellar and microwave oven.

A cozy study lies beyond, separated with a pair of nickel finished sliding doors that can be left open to transform the space into an extension of the dining room. Within it, a daybed in aubergine invites relaxation, while an arcing floor lamp recalls a tree branch. Lattice bookshelves are finished in brass with wood veneer surfaces, and recessed floor to ceiling drapery provides welcome shade when required.

The kitchen is efficiently laid out in a U-shape with upper cabinets finished in a vertical grained copper laminate and lowers in plain copper. A green tinted glass back wall is illuminated with recessed countertop lighting.

The master bedroom has direct access to the study and includes an ensuite bathroom. Floral hand painted de Gournay wallpaper acts as a feature headboard, while the master bathroom includes striated waterfall patterned marble in the enclosed shower and bathtub wet area. Sophisticated crystal chandelier wall scones and an onyx vanity cabinet with double sinks heighten the sense of opulence.
