The Summa is situated in Pokfulam, a neighbourhood highly respected for its elite academy institutes and traditional residential feel. FAK3 designed Unit B with a contemporary approach to living in mind, to reflect the lifestyle and aspirations of the young families who would choose to reside there. The apartment’s mood is one of tranquility, with calm prevalent in the clean, white direction of its aesthetic.
The 1,270 square foot, two bedroom, two bathroom unit boasts green views of The University of Hong Kong with Victoria Peak beyond, and a balcony that faces northeast towards Victoria Harbour.
From the entry, the living and dining areas flow seamlessly into one another for a generous space that inspires quiet conversation or reading. Natural sunlight spills softly from full height glazing shaded by floor to ceiling recessed drapery.
The living area is set against a backdrop of white marble engraved with a delicate ivy pattern floating within a frame finished in black matte stainless steel. The black stainless steel continues in a frieze that wraps around the entire space for a dramatic transition between wall and ceiling. Furnishings include an arcing floor lamp splashes warm light upon an off-white three seater sofa embellished with accent cushions in eggplant and soft blue.
The dining area is lit with a stunning chandelier featuring crystal dew drops that cascade downwards towards the centre of a circular dining table finished in a rich wood veneer. Behind the table to seat six, a feature wall of vertical stripe black matte stainless steel provides high contrast against the white engraved marble surround.
The U-shaped kitchen is adjacent to the dining area and continues the light colour scheme with horizontal grained oak veneer finishes on cabinet doors against a tinted black glass back wall.
The master bedroom contains an ensuite bathroom with enclosed shower and bathtub wet area. A white marble headboard is etched with cherry blossoms, with solid wood night tables flanking either side of the bed. The master bathroom carries through the white marble into the wet area, with stylish mother of pearl walls, chandelier wall sconce and a cherry vanity cabinet for two.
The guest bedroom makes efficient use of space by including a fold out desk along the bay window.
